A sharp reversal in market breadth from oversold to overbought zone in a very short span is a rare phenomenon, which suggests the market may be in for a strong rally. In India, market breadth expansion in the wider universe is not as frequent as in the US. Such signals are rigorous affairs and deserve huge attention after a bearish trends. Meanwhile, a section of market participants expect Nifty to surpass its last August record high of 11,760 and hit a new high before the outcome of the general elections' May 23. They are betting on a call ratio spread on index options to ride this momentum.
