HDFC Mutual Fund has decided to play Good Samaritan and come to the rescue of its investors. The fund house is buying Rs 500 crore worth of NCDs of Essel Group from the debt schemes that have exposure to these securities. This would help it repay investors in FMPs that hold Essel-issued securities and are due for maturity until September.
