Nifty50 EPS estimate for FY19 cut by 11%; history shows rupee should rebound and top BUY/SELL ideas

Nifty50's FY19 EPS target has been downgraded 11% since the beginning of the financial year. The June quarter saw a 4.25 per cent cut followed by another 4.1 per cent reduction in September quarter. Fuel retailers and some of the auto majors have seen sharpest cuts in EPS estimates, while private banks and IT stocks have seen a steepest rise. Yet the current EPS projection of Rs 503 leaves Nifty's current value at the the lower end of its trading range, reflecting some solid upside potential.
