IMF has just lowered India's growth estimates by 0.2 percentage points for each of last, current and next financial years. In its flagship World Economic Outlook released on Tuesday in Washington, it cited "the recent revision to the national account statistics that indicated somewhat softer underlying momentum" for the downgrade. Thankfully, IMF estimates are still higher than those of RBI, which had last week cut its growth forecast for to 7.2 per cent this fiscal and to 7.4 per cent for FY21.
