Nifty may be flying high past few weeks, but its 9% its dollar-adjusted gains year to date ranks 13th among the 20 most-followed global market indices. The Chinese and the Russian indices top the table with 35% and 28% year-to-date gains, thanks to strong fund flows FII into emerging markets. Nifty's performance continues to be driven by FII-heavy and index heavyweights. Among the top 15 FII-heavy stocks, L&T, HUL and Maruti Suzuki are the only three with negative returns.
