Investors are on edge as the bond downgrade cycle shows little sign of ending. Icra cut ratings on Yes Bank's longterm bond programme over the weekend. Just a week back, Anil Ambani-controlled Reliance Home Finance and Reliance Commercial Finance faced similar downgrades. These downgrades can trigger a further knockdown in valuations by debt funds. While the downgrades do not mean a loss, but mark-to-market adjustments for mutual funds would mean those who decide to exit at this juncture will be hit.
